The Drug & Alcohol Free Day Programme is open to males and females over 18. Participants must be free from drugs and alcohol and abstain from gambling and other problematic behaviours. Participants also must have stable accommodation and have the ability to work within a group setting.
This Programme is divided into 2 phases:
Phase 1 is a full time Day Programme over 5 months. The hours are 10.00am- 4.00pm every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Phase 2 is a weekly Aftercare Group over 5 months, held every Monday from 4.30pm-6pm.
ADAPT believe that everybody should have the opportunity, supports and facilities to overcome addiction and realise a fulfilled life. Everyone, from any walk of life, has the right and the potential to become a participating and valued member of society.
In response to the needs of the community, ADAPT, in conjunction with Coolmine Therapeutic Community, offer expert help to those who want to end their dependence on addictive substances and work on the behaviours associated with these problems.
Our Drug & Alcohol Free Day Programme is free of charge and offers a professional, confidential and non-judgemental service. Our facilitators have accreditation from the IACP and IAAAC. We incorporate a range of therapies including the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA), Motivated Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Group Therapy. We offer Addiction related workshops such as Communication Skills, Relapse Prevention, Anger Management and Self Esteem.
The programme also involves weekly Guided Mindfulness and an Art Workshop. Our Boxercise Programme is also available on Wednesdays, but not compulsory, as are our range of Holistic Therapies, such as Massage and Auricular Acupuncture.
Our programme is not just about being drug or alcohol-free, it is designed to help those recovering from addiction develop the skills necessary to maintain this freedom and enjoy a fulfilling life.
